Staff Accountant - Cost Control

Job Description Job Description Shaddock Homes is looking to hire someone that is currently Staff Accountant or an Assistant Controller with the initial focus on cost control and financial reporting. This role will continue to grow in responsibility and through demonstrated leadership within the small team environment the right person will have the opportunity to move into a Controllership position. Proven month-end close experience, exposure to construction, land development or homebuilding job-cost accounting, proficiency with Excel and the ability to take advantage of today's technology will distinguish the right candidate for this role. This role is a full-time, in-office opportunity in a productive, rewarding and fun team setting. While any accounting role will invariably involve efficiently conquering routine, and repetitive tasks, the person that successfully uses this role as stepping stone to Controller will also work closely with the other departments, the CFO, and the balance of the executive team to effectively navigate those unique challenges faced by a private, family-owned residential builder and developer. A degree in Accounting is required for this position. CPA or other certification will be helpful, but not required.
