Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Monticello, New York. This full-time role is pivotal in providing exceptional patient care through evidence-based therapy practices in the home care setting. As a PTA, you will play a key role in implementing individualized treatment plans designed by our licensed Physical Therapists, assisting patients in their journey toward recovery and improved mobility.

Work Environment
The working environment is characterized by a warm, inclusive atmosphere, where teamwork and communication are encouraged. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will primarily work on-site in patients' homes, providing care tailored to their individual needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a balanced work week while allowing for afternoons filled with impactful patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee individualized treatment plans as developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on restoring mobility and function.
- Conduct a variety of therapeutic exercises to enhance patient strength and range of motion, adapting each session to the patient's specific conditions and progress.
- Utilize manual therapy techniques to alleviate pain and improve recovery times, ensuring each patient feels supported throughout their journey.
- Document patient progress in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system meticulously, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care among staff.
- Educate and train patients on therapeutic exercises, body mechanics, and self-care practices to foster independence and facilitate long-term recovery.
- Monitor patient safety during sessions, actively assessing technique and providing corrective guidance when necessary, thus ensuring optimal treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with front office staff, referral providers, and the interdisciplinary therapy team to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be providing care primarily to individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues. Our patient population values personalized and compassionate care that addresses not only their physical needs but also their emotional and social well-being. Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State is required.
- Completion of a PTA program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- A positive, enthusiastic approach to patient care, with a strong desire to motivate and support clients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
- Excellent communication skills, fostering meaningful interactions with patients and interdisciplinary team members.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in outpatient orthopedic settings (at least 1 year recommended; recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (e.g., WebPT, NetHealth) for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
- An expressed interest in advanced techniques such as manual therapy, functional movement, and sports performance rehabilitation.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 annually , commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes:
