COTA Occupational Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide onsite therapeutic services to students within the Delta County School District. The role involves delivering occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to support students' educational needs. The COTA will collaborate with educational staff and families to promote student participation and success in school activities. This position requires adherence to school schedules and policies, with a focus on direct patient care and documentation. Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students as directed by the supervising occupational therapist.
- Implement treatment plans designed to improve students' functional abilities and participation in educational activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support student progress and adapt interventions.
- Document therapy sessions, student progress, and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and school policies.
- Active COTA license or certification in the state of Colorado.
- Less than 1 year of experience acceptable; willingness to learn and adapt in a school environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with school district policies.
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy or pediatric settings.
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education processes.
- Work is onsite within the Delta County School District, Western Mountains area.
- Candidates will only be compensated for hours worked; no pay for holidays or school closings.
- Must comply with school calendar closures and scheduled breaks.
- 30-day cancellation notice required.
- Monday through Friday schedule.
- Expected work hours total 37.5 hours per week.
- Work dates from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, following the school calendar.
