Lead Field Service TechnicianLocation: Imperial, PA (75% Travel) Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunitySystem One is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to support a global industrial technology organization that provides specialized equipment and service solutions for heavy industry and training environments.This role supports equipment service projects in two primary sectors:Fire training simulator systems used at airports, firefighting academies, and military basesSteel mill processing equipment used in heavy industrial manufacturing environmentsThe ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader in the field, ensuring work is completed to company standards while helping train and mentor service technicians.Position OverviewThe Lead Field Service Technician will act as a senior technical resource and field leader responsible for supporting equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites nationwide.This individual will serve as a right-hand technical leader, ensuring field work meets company standards while helping develop the field service team and maintaining strong customer relationships during onsite service activities.Travel ExpectationsThis position requires approximately 75% travel throughout the United States.Typical travel schedule includes:1–2 trips per year: 1.5–2 weeks in duration1–2 trips per year: 1–1.5 weeks in durationRemaining travel typically consists of Monday–Friday service trips or short regional trips (1–2 days)Employees are home most weekends.When not traveling, work will be performed at the Imperial, PA workshop.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform planned maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial equipment at customer sitesLead and supervise field service crews while ensuring work meets company standardsTrain and mentor technicians on service procedures and best practicesPrepare tools, materials, and documentation required for field service visitsInterpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawingsPerform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial systemsServe as the primary customer liaison onsite, explaining repair work, equipment issues, and maintenance requirementsComplete service reports, time reports, and customer acceptance documentationRespond to planned and emergency service callsEnsure all work is performed safely and professionallyRequired QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance or field service environmentExperience leading crews or supervising field techniciansStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experienceAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsProven ability to work independently in field environmentsExperience traveling professionally for service work nationwideValid driver's licenseAbility to access secure facilities such as airports, military bases, and industrial sitesAbility to travel via air and vehicle for extended periodsPreferred ExperienceMaintenance or service work on industrial or production machineryExperience in steel mill environmentsExperience with public safety or fire training equipmentBackground as an:Automation TechnicianIndustrial ElectricianIndustrial MechanicField Service TechnicianExperience with industrial gas systems is a strong plusCustomer-facing field service experienceRef: #282-Eng Pgh
