Revenue Accountant

Revenue AccountantWe are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance and accounting team. Working closely with Corporate and divisional finance teams, this position will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of revenue-related transactions and compliance with applicable revenue recognition accounting guidelines, including ASC 606. The Revenue Accountant will also oversee accounting for deferred revenue, perform monthly account reconciliations for deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and accounts receivable, and provide accurate analysis of customer and sales metrics to Sales and Finance leadership.Location: Allen, TexasJob Type: Full-TimePreferred Language: EnglishKey ResponsibilitiesAnalyze multi-element arrangements and process daily revenue transactions using an ERP system.Review executed revenue contracts and agreements to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606.Maintain and enforce internal control procedures and documentation requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close activities.Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to: Unbilled receivablesAccounts receivableDeferred revenueAssist with analysis used to establish Standalone Selling Prices (SSP) for products and services.Prepare quarterly reporting schedules required for financial statement disclosures.Participate in ERP system implementations, enhancements, and revenue automation initiatives.Participate in annual external audits and provide requested accounting documentation.Prepare ad hoc reports, financial analyses, and special projects for management.Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve revenue accounting processes and reporting.Required SkillsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and systems skills.Strong analytical abilities and exceptional attention to detail.Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.Strong understanding of revenue accounting and financial reporting principles.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Highly proactive with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.Flexible and organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.Strong team player with a high level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting required.CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a software, technology, or similar industry.Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite or comparable platforms.Experience with revenue automation tools, such as NetSuite ARM, preferred.Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.Understanding of SOX/internal control requirements preferred.CompensationAnnual Base Salary: $75,000 – $90,000Actual compensation may vary based on education, training, experience, professional qualifications, business requirements, and location.The posted salary range may encompass multiple career levels.
