Summary In need of a LPN or an RN who will provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and support personnel. Plan shift services, programs, and activities, and provide written & oral reports. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit/shift. Complete & file required recordkeeping forms and charts. Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians. Chart nurses' notes in a descriptive manner. Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician. Develop & maintain rapport with inter‑departmental personnel. Maintain a warm, calm environment throughout the unit. Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy care, blood draws, massages, and range‑of‑motion exercises. Monitor personnel to ensure safety regulations are followed. Maintain confidentiality of resident care information. Provide IV & IV site care as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure. Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure. Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Make independent decisions when necessary. Knowledge of nursing & medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines for nursing care facilities. Current CPR certification is required. Experience in Long Term Care is preferred. Physical Demands Move intermittently throughout the workday. Cope with mental & emotional stress. Meet general health requirements, including a medical & physical examination. Push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry that weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
