Job Description:

This role involves working in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit, specializing in patients with mental illness. The unit provides care for patients with medical conditions who may have secondary psychiatric diagnoses, requiring additional safety monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma setting with a focus on MedSurg and Telemetry skills.
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Maintain sterile field and follow hospital protocols for lifts, restraints, and wound care.
• Engage in care of patients with mental illness, confused patients, dementia, and those with low cognitive ability.

Requirements:

• Must have experience in a facility with 600+ beds.
• Valid license and certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam and SIMs Lab on the first day of orientation.
• Natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must clean shave for fit test.
