Director, Value Strategy & Marketing

Amgen seeks an experienced Director to lead value strategy and marketing across rare disease and oncology portfolios. This role develops payer value propositions, evidence strategies, and customer engagement plans to support product coverage and patient access while managing a small team.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio value strategy across rare disease and oncology, translating brand objectives and payer dynamics into clear priorities
• Define differentiated payer value propositions and ensure clinical and economic evidence translates into credible customer value stories
• Guide payer-relevant evidence strategy with HEOR, observational research, and Medical teams to identify gaps and shape studies
• Oversee development and deployment of payer value resources including customer value aids, economic tools, and training materials
• Lead, coach, and develop two Senior Managers while managing portfolio budgets and agency relationships

Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 4+ years commercial experience, or Master's with 7+ years, or Bachelor's with 9+ years
• 8+ years pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in market access, payer marketing, or value strategy
• Demonstrated experience developing payer and reimbursement strategies for specialty pharmaceuticals; rare disease or oncology background strongly preferred
• People leadership experience with proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of U.S. payer decision-making across medical and pharmacy benefits
• Ability to synthesize payer insights, clinical evidence, health economic data into differentiated strategies
• Experience influencing evidence-generation priorities and cross-functional collaboration with HEOR and Medical teams

Compensation: $208,319.70-$281,844.30 USD
