Embark on an impactful opportunity supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired within a welcoming school community near Orlando, FL. This contract role offers the chance to work with K-8 students across a small, manageable caseload at two schools within a cluster each day, with rare assignments at a third location. As an essential member of the special education team, you’ll foster growth, learning, and independence for 12 remarkable students.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Delivering direct and consultative instruction for students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum materials and technology as needed.
• Collaborating closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to map out Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure accessible educational experiences.
• Traveling between assigned elementary and middle school campuses within the clusters.
• Conducting functional vision assessments and sharing insights with multidisciplinary teams.
• Advocating for students’ needs, supporting skill-building in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and life skills.
• Maintaining thorough documentation and participating in IEP meetings.

Qualifications and experience:

• Current Educator Certification with Vision endorsement required.
• Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, preferably in a K-8 school setting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• District background check, fingerprinting, and credentialing forms will be required.

This full-time, itinerant position starts August 2026 and runs through late May 2027, offering stable, meaningful work during the academic year. Extensive support will be provided throughout the onboarding process, including interview preparation and guidance with credentialing.
