Hendrick Motorsports, a leader in the auto racing industry, is currently seeking a Cylinder Head Engine Tech.

Summary: Under the general direction of the Cylinder Head Shop Manager, the Cylinder Head Technician is responsible for teardown and cleanup of cylinder heads and components post-race.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Teardown, inspect and cleanup cylinder heads and components post-race
• Measure valve seat wear and valve guide clearance
• Data entry
• Open work orders
• Install & hone valve guides
• Mill cylinder heads to correct chamber volume
• Inspect & rate valve springs
• Any other duties assigned by manager

• Repairing repairing items using needed tools and equipment.

Education/Experience:

• Ideally have experience with building race engines.
• Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies.
• Must possess a sound understanding of internal combustion engines.

Computer Skills:

• Requires basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:

• Must possess strong communication skills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with other departments, and perform work as timely and precisely as possible.

Physical Demands:

• Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety glasses. Constantly manually manipulates. Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
