Imagine a career where every conversation you inspire enriches lives. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant and warm embrace of Tampa, your role transcends traditional therapy — it is a pathway to unlocking voices, boosting confidence, and establishing profound connections. Whether you're guiding young children through their first utterances or enabling seniors to regain their independence, your impact will be felt across generations.
This position offers you an exceptional chance to support a diverse range of patients throughout various stages of life. In a dynamic environment that integrates outpatient services with the occasional inpatient needs, you'll be able to focus on your passion—whether it be fostering pediatric language growth, addressing adult neurogenic challenges, or providing crucial cognitive-linguistic therapies for older adults.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that align with both immediate and long-term objectives for communication, cognitive, and swallowing interventions.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language capabilities, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers—to formulate cohesive treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress made during therapy and encourage continuity of care.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy sessions to ensure comprehensive management across the care continuum.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation adhering to state regulations and organizational policies.
- Stay informed on industry advances through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
Education and Credentials
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Required Certifications
- State licensure for Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Desired Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methodologies spanning all ages, with an in-depth understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adept at tailoring therapy strategies to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving acumen.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
Why This Role is for You
- Competitive salary reflective of your experience and expertise.
- Flexible hours to ensure a healthy work-life integration with varied patient caseloads.
- Room for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric services.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) combined with holiday pay.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth.
- A team-centered environment that prioritizes quality care and lifelong learning.
Your Next Adventure Awaits
Here, you won't just deliver therapy; you'll join a mission dedicated to lifting voices, fostering communication, and creating those beautifully simple yet profound moments of connection. Together, we will nurture a supportive community that values collaboration and celebrates every individual story.
Envision yourself alongside a team of compassionate clinicians who care for one another and every patient like family. Every person you encounter has a journey — let's work together to help guide them in sharing it.
