Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Construction Inspector to provide full-time field inspection and construction oversight for railroad/transit station infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience , preferably supporting railroad, transit, station, or public infrastructure projects. The candidate should have strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, safety requirements, quality control, and field documentation, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, construction management teams, Client departments, and Rail Operations.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience .
• Experience with construction drawings, specifications, quality control, safety requirements, and field documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors, construction management staff, Client departments, and Rail Operations.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification – Required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability and willingness to travel between multiple Client station locations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required:
• • Client Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) / Roadway Worker Safety (RWS) training.
  • Client Contractor Safety Training.
  • Applicable railroad and track safety qualifications required for access to Client properties and right-of-way.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Client or railroad construction experience.
• Experience with:
• • Station rehabilitation
  • Structural steel and stairs
  • Concrete construction
  • Roofing
  • Architectural work
  • General civil construction
• Familiarity with  SSSWP and  PTE requirements.
• Knowledge of railroad access requirements.
• Experience working adjacent to active railroad operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full-time field inspection and construction oversight at  North Elizabeth, Edison, Summit, and East Orange Stations .
• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with:
• • Contract drawings and specifications
  • Approved work plans
  • Safety requirements
  • Project schedule
  • Quality standards
• Coordinate daily field activities with the Construction Program Manager, Construction Manager/RE, contractors, Client departments, and project stakeholders.
• Perform daily field inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Complete and submit  Daily Field Reports at the end of each shift as required.
• Maintain comprehensive photo documentation of field activities and construction progress.
• Verify contractor
