Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Molecular Cardiology Research Institute Good Lab

Position Overview Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Vascular Physiology at the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. The Fellowship is housed in the laboratory of Dr. Miranda Good and focuses on studying arterial and vascular function during ischemic injury, atherosclerosis, and Alzheimer Disease. The primary objective of the Good Lab is to understand the mechanisms that regulate blood vessel function and inflammation in disease states, with a particular emphasis on the role of Pannexin1 in arterial and venous endothelial cells. Responsibilities Design and conduct independent research projects on vascular mechanisms contributing to ischemia/reperfusion injury, Alzheimer Disease, and hypertension. Develop and optimize protocols, including pressure myography on resistance arteries and survival surgeries in mice or rats. Perform molecular and cellular biology assays, ex vivo vascular function studies, and work with mouse models of vascular injury. Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical techniques and software. Write scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and grant applications for publication and funding. Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and scientific meetings. Collaborate with Dr. Good, lab members, and other investigators within MCRI. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects. Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, protocols, and results, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Assist in securing research funding by contributing to grant writing and research proposal development. Work with regulatory bodies and ethics committees to ensure compliance with research protocols and regulations. Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications, workshops, and other scientific channels. Qualifications Ph.D. in cardiovascular biology, neurovascular physiology, or related field (required). M.D. also acceptable. Prior experience in cardiovascular or neurovascular physiology, especially with pressure myography or small animal vascular surgery. Strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS). Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a record of peer‑reviewed publications preferred. Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment. Knowledge of ethical guidelines and regulations related to biomedical research.
