Outside Sales Representative – Natural Gas Compression & Power Generation Date Posted: August 18, 2026 Pay: $75,000–$85,000 per year Job Type: Full-time Job Description Cypress Engine Accessories is a growing provider of industrial engine instrumentation, controls, accessories, parts, and service solutions. We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to develop and support customers throughout our South and Gulf Texas territory. Our Outside Sales Representatives are responsible for building parts and service sales within their assigned territories by supporting existing customers, developing new accounts, and identifying solutions that meet customer equipment and operational needs. The primary focus of this position is the midstream natural gas compression industry, with additional opportunities in the Power Generation market. This is a territory-based, relationship-driven sales position that requires regular customer visits, field interaction, and a strong understanding of customer applications. The Outside Sales Representative will work closely with an Inside Sales team and other Cypress Engine departments to develop quotes, coordinate parts and service opportunities, and provide customers with responsive support from initial inquiry through completion. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage an assigned sales territory with responsibility for growing parts, service, and project sales. Maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular visits, communication, follow-up, and responsive support. Prospect for and develop new customers, accounts, and business opportunities throughout the territory. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts, products, service, and technical solutions for their equipment and applications. Develop opportunities primarily within the Natural Gas Compression/Midstream market, while supporting growth within Power Generation and other applicable industrial markets. Maintain a consistent presence in the territory by visiting customer offices, compressor stations, plants, project sites, and other facilities as appropriate. Work collaboratively with an assigned Inside Sales team to prepare quotes, process orders, coordinate customer requests, and provide timely follow-up. Identify service opportunities, including troubleshooting support, installations, upgrades, overhauls, maintenance, inspections, and other field-service needs. Effectively demonstrate and present products and solutions, communicating their application, value, and competitive advantages. Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations based on customer needs and operational requirements. Respond promptly and thoroughly to customer inquiries, sales leads, RFQs, and requests for information. Maintain accurate and timely customer, opportunity, activity, and follow-up information within the company's CRM. Collaborate with Inside Sales, Service, Technical Operations, Procurement, and Management to ensure customer needs are properly communicated and fulfilled. Maintain ownership of customer relationships and opportunities throughout the sales process, including appropriate follow-up after quotes, orders, and projects. Attend customer meetings, site visits, industry events, trade shows, vendor training, and other business-development activities as required. Work toward established territory sales goals and actively identify opportunities to increase market coverage and account penetration. Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience. Minimum 1 year of B2B outside sales experience within an industrial or related market. Preferred: 2+ years of industrial sales experience. 2+ years of experience within the Natural Gas Compression, Midstream, Oil & Gas, Industrial Engine, or related markets. Experience selling industrial parts, equipment, controls, instrumentation, or field-service solutions. Skills & Abilities Highly self-motivated with the ability to independently manage a sales territory. Strong drive to achieve sales goals and develop new business. Proven ability to build, maintain, and grow long-term customer relationships. Comfortable prospecting for new accounts and developing business from existing customers. Strong verbal communication, presentation, and customer-service skills. Ability to understand customer applications and work with internal technical resources to develop solutions. Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. Collaborative team player who works effectively with Inside Sales and operational teams. Ability to work independently while following established company sales processes and direction. Willingness to spend significant time in the field and travel throughout the assigned territory, including several hours of driving per day. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; CRM experience preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Compensation Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
