Finance Manager, Retail & Marcom Engineering Sunnyvale, California, United States Corporate Functions Description The Retail & Marcom Engineering Finance organization is chartered to provide sound financial governance and oversight across our Engineering teams, ensuring that Apple Retail and Marcom implement the right‑sized projects (in terms of dollars and people resources) to keep us on the cutting edge of customer service. We are looking for someone who can not only support the workforce management behind these projects but also assess the portfolio’s financial health and provide thought leadership as we continue to evolve. This individual will partner with key stakeholders across the Engineering, Retail Business Unit, Marcom, and other IS&T teams, such as Business Planning and Finance. You will play a crucial role in managing Retail & Marcom Engineering’s workforce, from capacity planning and resource allocation to tool/process development to workforce strategy and change management. This leader will manage a team of analysts that provides workforce management and financial operations support and guidance across the lifecycle of software development projects and system sustenance. Success in this role includes leading and mentoring analysts, building trust and partnerships, driving results, influencing leadership through data, and being motivated to improve and innovate (especially in the face of ambiguity). Responsibilities Ownership, execution, and management of capacity planning and resource allocation processes and analyses, including but not limited to - Development of scenario‑based forecasts and strategic plans to manage capacity Leadership of resource activities and ensuring accurate, proper allocations Modeling and assessing contractor resource allocations against each portfolio’s budget Educating, training, and supporting stakeholders Creating reports to not only understand supply, demand, and utilization but also to analyze the data in order to provide insights and assist with decision‑making Full end‑to‑end management of the Role Conversion Program, from examining contractor‑to‑employee conversion proposals to forming the business case, to execution, to analysis of the optimal contractor‑to‑employee ratios Collaborating with various teams to form and maintain service hierarchies that provide leadership with valuable information in serving the needs of various business units Thought leader and driver in workforce management and supporting systems Driving initiatives, efficiencies, and deeper analyses of current processes and activities (in the face of ambiguity and dynamic business needs) Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience in a high‑performance organization, performing financial processes, reporting, and forecasting/modeling Proven people leadership experience (direct or indirect) Team leader and/or player with the ability to partner and influence across different organizations and at all levels B.A./B.S. or higher in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities/projects, priorities, and people in a dynamic environment Exhibits high analytical capabilities with the ability to distill complex and large data into insights communicated in simple and efficient ways Shown to be a dedicated problem solver, expected to analyze a problem and work to recommend viable and highly effective solutions Exceptionally detail‑oriented with the insight to determine the applicability of big picture analysis Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience developing processes and/or improving existing processes with a desire to influence change across teams and organizations Unwavering intellectual curiosity with the ability to turn findings into unique insights. Is not satisfied with easy or convenient answers and drives issues to the root cause Experience with enterprise software systems and/or Apple internal applications (e.g., Clarity, Excel, Tableau) At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $149,700 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
