Job Title: Scientist Antibody Engineering Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite) Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Compensation: $30–$40/hour Type: Contract (6 months, potential for extension) Overview A leading biotechnology company advancing next-generation antibody-based therapeutics is seeking a Scientist / Associate Scientist to join their antibody engineering team. This role focuses on phage display, nanobody/antibody discovery, and bispecific engineering, supporting early-stage oncology programs. This is a highly hands-on opportunity to work on cutting-edge therapeutic platforms in a collaborative research environment. Responsibilities Contribute to the discovery and engineering of nanobodies and antibodies, including bispecific formats Perform bio-panning of phage libraries against selected targets to identify lead candidates Design, construct, and engineer antibody and nanobody constructs using molecular biology techniques Execute PCR, cloning, mutagenesis, RNA isolation, and sequence analysis Evaluate antibody/nanobody performance using ELISA, flow cytometry, and Octet Analyze binding, function, stability, and developability of candidates Support antibody library generation and screening workflows Utilize molecular and some computational tools to optimize affinity and stability Perform basic data analysis and interpretation of experimental results Document experimental procedures and findings in lab notebooks and internal systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance discovery programs Requirements Bachelor’s degree with 3–5+ years of experience, OR Master’s with 1–2+ years, OR recent PhD in a relevant scientific discipline Direct experience with phage display / bio-panning - required Strong hands‑on experience in molecular biology techniques (cloning, mutagenesis, sequencing, plasmid work) Experience working with antibody or nanobody libraries is highly desirable Hands‑on experience with ELISA and/or flow cytometry for protein/antibody evaluation Familiarity with plasmid mapping and sequence analysis tools (e.g., SnapGene) Exposure to NGS is a big plus Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work in a fast‑paced lab environment Benefits System One offers eligible employees health and welfare benefits coverage options, including medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, life insurance, voluntary plans, and participation in a 401(k) plan. #J-18808-Ljbffr Joulé
