Job Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for demolition, excavation, earthwork, site development, and civil construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to determine labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing analysis using industry-standard estimating software.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and senior leadership during the bid process.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project scope and constraints.
• Develop accurate bid proposals and tender submissions within required deadlines.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating records.
• Support project handovers and provide estimating assistance throughout the project lifecycle.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Demolition Estimator should have:

• 3+ years of estimating experience within demolition, civil construction, heavy highway, sitework, earthworks, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of demolition methodologies, construction means and methods, and project sequencing.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience performing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Planswift, Agtek, Bid2Win, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local construction markets, subcontractors, and suppliers is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
