Job Details Job Location: Elkins, WV 26241 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Job Summary Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on a continuing basis by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Examines patients for symptoms or physical information. Elicits and records information about patient's medical history. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examinations, and diagnoses condition of patient. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize them from communicable diseases. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Refers patients to a medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for their well‑being. Refers patients to a medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs minor surgery and procedures as qualified. Makes house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit the office or clinic. Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation in the medical area. Also directly supervises 2‑3 nurse employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications Education and Experience: Physician will have a Medical Doctoral degree with experience and/or training in primary care. Certificates from colleges, hospitals, clinics, and medical schools attended for experience and credentialing. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Physician may have higher degrees or certificates and must be licensed to practice medicine.
