Human Resources Director

Human Resources Director Position Type: Full Time Location: Falls Church, VA Position Summary The position is responsible for overseeing assigned human resources projects and programs in the areas of employment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development for CHEMTREC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The position is also responsible for onboarding and off-boarding of all CHEMTREC staff. The position works closely with all levels of employees throughout CHEMTREC and reports directly to ACC’s Senior Director, Human Resources. Major Duties and Responsibilities Manages CHEMTREC employee relations, including staff issue resolution as well as compliance with mandated federal, state and local regulations and policy provisions. Oversees and leads all CHEMTREC recruitment activities. Develops and maintains CHEMTREC position descriptions, including title hierarchy. Identifies, develops and implements required training and professional development programs. Manages new CHEMTREC employee on-boarding and orientation programs as well as exit interview process. Maintains CHEMTREC’s Office Manual and drafts new and/or updates current policies, as needed. Supports Vice President, Human Resources and Administration with managing position control on behalf of CHEMTREC, including position additions/deletions, promotions, equity adjustments, etc. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal, state and local employment law as well as compliance requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. Eight years’ human resources generalist experience. Five years of employee relations, organizational development training and development or related experience. Ability to maintain highly confidential information. Strong written and oral communications skills, as well as the ability to give internal presentations. Ability to work independently on a variety of complex matters simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employee, both verbally and non-verbally. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills ACC offers medical, dental, vision as well as a 401(k) matching contribution up to 6% of eligible compensation and an automatic 6% contribution of eligible compensation to the Profit-Sharing Plan, both vested immediately at 100%.
