The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Position Summary To provide effective, accurate and timely processing and follow-up of corporate reimbursement from commercial insurance carriers, Worker’s Compensation, Medicaid, Medicare, and patients. Responsible for training and assisting in all routine actions required in resolving account balances. Position Qualifications Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College level course in Medical Terminology desirable. Minimum Experience: Six (6) months computer experience - IBM (or compatible) computer experience or class credits including MS Excel and Word. Alphabetical and numerical filing experience. License, Certification, Registration: N/A Equipment/Tools: Experience with printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Typing speed of 45 w.p.m. and 10-key by touch. Applicant must have very good mathematical skills. Ability to speak Yup'ik preferable. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Accuracy and dependability a must. Interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with medical/clinical personnel on a routine basis. Required to meet monthly deadlines to ensure prompt payments. Applicant must demonstrate very good time-management and organizational skills which are required to maintain efficiency in meeting day-to-day expectations.
