Staff Accountant Highland Park,IL, US Job Description Experience: Entry Level Salary: $65,000 - $82,000 per year Job Details STAFF ACCOUNTANT A growing beverage company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its Accounts Payable function and broader day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands‑on role best suited for a detail‑oriented professional who's comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small‑to‑mid‑sized company environment, with room to grow as the organization scales. Responsibilities Support day‑to‑day accounting operations in line with GAAP Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of month‑end close Process a high volume of vendor bills and maintain accurate vendor records Review employee expense reports for policy compliance Assist with external audits, providing schedules and documentation as needed Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes as the company grows Support special projects and other accounting tasks as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting or finance 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at a small‑to‑mid‑sized company Experience in wholesale, retail, distribution, or inventory‑driven businesses a strong plus Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and reconciliations ERP system experience required (NetSuite or similar preferred) Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Comfortable working independently and as part of a lean team Clear communicator with a proactive, improvement‑minded approach A bit about us: A privately held, family‑owned beverage company with a strong global presence and a portfolio of well‑known brands distributed internationally.
