Euclid City Schools has an opening for a Technology/Media Assistant at Euclid High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Description

Position: Technology/Media Assistant

Reports to: Building Principal

Employment Status: Regular/Full-time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Description: Assist with the distribution, utilization, and maintenance of school library resources and provides clerical support. Process information and materials using computers and designated programs. Assist in operation and technical support of audio-visual equipment and computers. This includes hardware and software support. NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance

Essential Functions

• Ensure safety of students
• Provide support to school personnel on any instructional equipment and software
• Communicate and maintain an inventory of district-owned hardware, software and related equipment/materials
• Recommend the purchase of computer hardware and software
• Coordinate the distribution of computer hardware and software in the school
• Assist students in the use of the electronic on-line catalog, special reference materials, and proper use of library
• Maintain record of circulation records, fine money records, lost and paid book money records and to deposit monies in accordance with established procedures
• Keep an inventory of media center materials
• Operate media center equipment, e.g. computers, laptops, E-readers, iPads
• Maintain an electronic on-line catalog for print materials and an up-to-date card catalog for non-print materials
• Complete routine processing of books, magazines, and audio-visual materials
• Maintain procedure for the checkout, return, and reshelving of all library materials
• Maintain accurate records of all library equipment, materials and supplies
• Prepare purchase orders for library books, magazines, reference materials, and other pertinent items under the direction of the principal
• Schedule classes for library time and assist with the supervision and discipline of students in media center
• Assist students and teachers in the proper selection and utilization of library materials
• Make simple and minor book repairs
• Circulate print and non-print materials
• Issue overdue notices to homerooms and individual students
• Student supervisions responsibilities (e.g. arrival/dismissal) as requested by the principal or designee
• Provide support for additional educational programs or projects as deemed appropriate by the principal
• Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student records, free/reduced lunch forms, student test scores
• Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
• Promote good public relations
• Attend meetings and in-services as required

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with technology personnel and others whose work relates to the use of technology
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures relating to technology and media
• Attend applicable inservice meeting or training
• Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
• Serve as a role model for students
• Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Technology

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two to Five year's related experience
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing

• Organizational and problem solving skills
• Basic knowledge of computer networks
• Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of computer-related technology and equipment
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute

• Frequent interruption of duties by staff, students, visitors and/or telephone
• Occasional requirement to travel, both daily and overnight
• Occasional need to work overtime, evenings and/or weekends
• Occasional requirement to lift, carry, push and/or pulling various supplies and/or equipment up to a maximum 50 pounds
