Interns will have the chance to learn in a collaborative environment that brings together experts from academic institutions and industry, providing insight into how scientific research translates into real-world impact. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, interns will be introduced to clinical research, laboratory processes, and data-driven science while contributing to meaningful projects. The program fosters curiosity, learning, and mentorship, making it an ideal environment for students interested in exploring careers in science, medicine, and research.The intern will be responsible for supporting the laboratory team with biomaterials (including lab consumables and biospecimens), as well as assisting with shipment, storage, inventory organization, and contributions to project design and execution.The Banner Health Internship Program provides valuable insight and professional level work experience in the healthcare industry. These positions are paid, non-benefitted and temporary. **This will be 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30 or 9am to 5pm for 8 weeks.****Compensation is a flat, non-negotiable rate of $17.00/hour.****New Employee Orientation will take place as soon as possible.****Requirements to Apply Online:*** Must be a current high school student going into their senior year or a graduated high school senior* Located in ArizonaBanner Alzheimer's Institute (BAI) was established in 2006 as Banner Health's first Center of Excellence. We intend to make a transformational difference in Alzheimer's disease, other neurodegenerative disorders, and oncology research and care.POSITION SUMMARYThis position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.CORE FUNCTIONS1. Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study. 2. Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department. 3. Performs research and prepares reports on assigned topics and /or projects when required. 4. Works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCurrently enrolled in high school in their senior/final year.Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.
