Plow Truck Driver

Job Description

Job Description

Plow Truck Driver | $32–$38/hr

Earn strong winter pay behind the wheel of a plow truck, clear lots and driveways storm after storm, and turn one strong season into a shot at year-round work.

-When the snow starts falling, you're already rolling.

-Plow commercial lots and driveways clean.

-Work through the storm with a crew that counts on you.

-Turn every storm into strong seasonal pay.

-Be the reason your community keeps moving all winter.

What You'll Own

1. Clear commercial and residential properties by plowing lots, drives, and roadways the moment a storm hits.

2. Hit the priority sites first: get the no-tolerance accounts open, then work through the rest of your route until every property is done.

3. Plow clean and plow smart: push snow to the right places, protect curbs, islands, and pavement, and leave lots ready for the day ahead.

4. Drive cautiously in tough conditions, protecting your truck, your plow, and everyone else on the road.

5. Keep your truck storm-ready with pre- and post-run checks and basic maintenance.

6. Stay in contact with your manager through the event so nothing gets missed and every site gets covered.

What You Bring

-A valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record. This is a driving role, and every driver's motor vehicle record is reviewed.

-One to two years of plowing or commercial driving experience is preferred, but the right reliable, teachable driver can be trained.

-This is a seasonal winter role (roughly November through April) with on-call storm response: nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts when snow hits. We aim to clear our properties within about 12 hours of a storm, so when it snows, we need you ready.

-Dependability when the forecast turns: plow drivers are the first ones we call when a storm rolls in.

-The physical stamina to work long, on-call shifts outdoors in cold, snow, and ice, staying alert behind the plow from the first push to the last.

-You don't need a CDL to drive for us, but if you hold one, it earns a pay raise and puts you behind our larger trucks (over 26,000 lbs) that require it.

Why Alt's Operation

-Competitive seasonal pay of $32–$38/hr with a pay bump for CDL holders.

-Uniforms and PPE provided.

-Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours over 40 in a week.

-While part time roles do not include benefits, moving to full time would make you eligible for a 401(k) with company match, plus health, dental, life and disability insurance.

-Winter doesn't have to be the end of the road here. Strong plow drivers who want to keep working can move into summer roles like lawn maintenance, landscaping, hardscape, or skid steer operation, based on experience and fit.

-Plenty of plowing when you want it. As one of the largest snow and ice operations in the area, we keep our drivers busy every event, and snow is nearly half our business.

-Well-maintained trucks and plows, and a crew that has your back through every event.

-A family-oriented company, 13 years in business and growing, where showing up when it counts gets noticed.

Where You'll Shine

Be the driver who's already out pushing snow while everyone else is waiting for the roads to clear. Take pride in a lot plowed clean before the workday even starts. And turn one strong winter behind the plow into a year-round career with a growing team.

About Alt's Operation

Alt's Operation is a growing, family-oriented outdoor company based in Verona, WI, serving Dane County for 13 years. Snow and ice management is nearly half of our business, so our winter crews are the backbone of what we do, and we take care of the people who show up when it matters.

Every driver's motor vehicle record will be reviewed, and CDL drivers complete a pre-employment drug screening. People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.
