Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive cardiovascular surgical nursing care within a specialized CVOR unit. This role involves supporting patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring optimal outcomes through expert clinical expertise and diligent patient management.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies for cardiac and vascular procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Document patient progress and surgical details accurately in electronic health records.
• Manage patient vital signs, anesthesia, and response to intraoperative events.
• Provide patient education and post-operative care instructions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an associate's degree or higher.
• Possess current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and surgical technology.
• Ability to float to other units when census is low.
