Ready to make a difference supporting students with special needs this summer? If you’re a dedicated paraprofessional with the right credentials, your skills are needed on a contract basis for Extended School Year programs near Berkeley, CA. Schools are seeking team players who are flexible, ready to work across a range of needs, and passionate about supporting diverse learners. Assignments span Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, High School, ACCESS, and County programs — flexibility and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or higher OR 48 college units and a high school diploma OR passing of CBEST and a high school diploma OR passing of the Instructional Aide Exam and high school diploma
• Additional highly valued credentials (please provide documentation if applicable): CPR/First Aid certification, emergency medication administration training, physical health care procedures, experience with behavioral/social-emotional needs, sign language fluency, Braille and vision-impaired support, CA Licensed Vocational Nurse with relevant certifications
• Willingness to assist with all assigned duties including toileting, feeding, g-tube feeding, and diapering
• Demonstrated ability to stand for extended periods (for some positions)
• Positive references, including a manager’s reference, are required for consideration
• Proof of qualifications and any additional certifications must be submitted as part of application

Responsibilities:

• Closely assist students with diverse learning and physical needs in the classroom and community
• Follow all health, safety, and care routines as instructed
• Communicate and collaborate with teachers and staff
• Demonstrate flexibility and a supportive, team-oriented attitude

Extended School Year schedules run June 15–July 10 or June 15–July 17 (depending on assignment), Monday through Friday, with breaks for observed holidays.
