Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform daily operation and maintenance tasks at a water/wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance, quality control testing, and process monitoring on an assigned shift. This role typically holds, or is working toward, an intermediate-level water/wastewater treatment certification. Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour Key Responsibilities Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter/gauge readings Operate valves and gates manually or by remote control Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control treatment processes Maintain shift logs and record meter/gauge readings Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses Perform routine maintenance and custodial duties Make operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel Follow oral and written instructions Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work Perform other duties as required Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Florida Class C Wastewater License, or Class C Water License and willing to obtain wastewater certification One year of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment plant operations, including valves, pumps, and motors Knowledge of bacteriological and chemical sewage analysis principles Understanding of industrial waste effects on treatment processes Safe work practices #WaterTreatment #WastewaterTreatment #PlantOperator #UtilitiesJobs #NowHiring #J-18808-Ljbffr
