Our cooks are responsible for food production and preparation, and oversee the back‑of‑house activity, including assisting in the management of kitchen operations. You’ll work with an incredible staff dedicated to ensuring a high quality of culinary excellence for our community. Pay and Hours Pay: $22–25 per hour DOE. Shift: Monday – Friday between the hours of ~9:00 AM to ~9:00 PM. Coverage on Saturday or Sunday may be required. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with resident dietary restrictions. Conduct regular quality assurance audits. Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary handling practices, and ensure compliance with King County and DSHS regulations. Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors. Hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff. Supervise and assign duties to production and utility personnel. Create a motivating environment that encourages employee involvement, creativity, and problem solving. Assume the responsibilities of the executive chef in their absence. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1–2 years of experience as a cook/chef, preferably in a senior living community. Ability to prepare high quality food for residents. Able to work holidays and pre‑planned events. Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents. Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets. Successful completion of a recognized food safety course.
