Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience At least 1 year of experience in a progressive care unit License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS ACLS Must-Have: Current acute care experience 2 years of total acute care experience 1 year of progressive care unit experience Description: This position involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients. The focus is primarily on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. There is a heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, though this may vary to 1:5 based on unit needs. Experience with telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and managing blood products is required. Candidates must be familiar with computerized charting and have strong skills in patient care management. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with interdisciplinary support services. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. The role may involve variable weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit. Flexible scheduling is required, including rotating shifts as needed for department coverage. Candidates should be prepared for a comprehensive credentialing process prior to starting.
