Lecturer - MUSC 311: Advanced Recording Techniques (Fall 2026) The Department of Music at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall2026 to teach MUSC 311: Advanced Recording Technology. Course Description: Continuation of the study of recording techniques. Includes advanced use of Pro Tools editing software and WAVES plug-in effects, microphone placement, and recording in both a studio and concert setting. Particular attention to advanced editing, mixing and mastering techniques. Semester: Fall2026 Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 1:30 to 3:20 p.m. Modality: In-person College: College of Humanities, Arts, behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Music Preferred qualifications: Master of Music or equivalent advanced degree Teaching experience at the college, university, or professional training level. Current professional experience in recording, mixing, mastering, music production, post‑production, or live sound. Experience with current plug‑ins and other industry‑standard audio software. Familiarity with current trends in music production and digital audio technology. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service. Salary commensurate with degree level and experience Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:$5,507-$8,000 per full-time month The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY:$5,507-$6,677 per full-time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY:$6,221-$13,224 per full-time month The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
