Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager is a hands‑on leader responsible for managing the procurement department personnel, sourcing strategies, and all day‑to‑day purchasing activities in support of supply chain and operations requirements. The ideal candidate is technically adept, thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable balancing both tactical and strategic responsibilities. Strong communication, data‑driven decision making, and process ownership are essential to success. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives Support business goals and drive department KPI's Manage the full lifecycle of procure-to-pay activities, including RFQ's, supplier selection, negotiations, PO placement, delivery management, and invoice resolution Lead and manage a direct team, including performance management and talent development Collaborate cross‑functionally with other departments including Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to support sourcing decisions and resolve supply‑related issues Manage the supplier base through performance metrics, qualification activities, risk assessments, status meetings, and corrective actions Support the development, implementation, and compliance of purchasing policies and procedures Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and FAA Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field 7+ years of procurement experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments, with at least 3 years of management or leadership experience Have an excellent understanding of metal commodities, machining, milling, fabrication, casting, forging, and outside treatment processes pertaining to the manufacturing of aerospace parts and components Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, and BOMs Strong technical analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proven negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills Experience sourcing specialized components, machined parts, or advanced materials Strong ERP experience: Global Shop and or Epicor preferred Ability to work on‑site Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr AGSE
