Financial Reporting Analyst

What You'll Do:

This role is a hybrid role that will assist the Marketing group in financial modeling and reporting the efficiency of our marketing spends, which in turn is our primary driver of our revenue / profitability while also assisting the Finance group with various other Finance related tasks. The following tasks make up a bulk of the work in this Chicago based role:


Financial Modeling, Analysis & Reporting:

Revenue Analytics - analyze advertising campaign performance data that drives our marketing efficiency ratio (MER) and report back to leadership/ownership on an adhoc and monthly basis via regular reporting. By analyzing our main marketing channel spends and Gross MER's, we can optimize spends and reallocate marketing budgets to the higher Gross MER channels/campaigns.

Revenue Forecasting - utilize detailed financial models to predict revenue by channel and inbound lead volumes; create dashboards to analyze efficiency and optimize advertising spend. Our main marketing channels consist of Print (Inserts, Magazines, FSI's & Direct Mail), Digital, TV & Podcasts.

Reporting to Leadership/External Stakeholders - employee will summarize the findings above on a campaign/channel basis and present these findings on an as-needed basis in our Management Reporting to ownership / leadership.


Overall Understanding of EBITDA Drivers , which include Gross MER, Hearing Aid Return Rates, and Gross Margin %'s by Product. Having a firm understanding of our overall P&L will in turn drive decision making on the marketing front when taken into account with the Revenue Analytics/Forecasting above.

What skills we need to see:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Experience : Relevant work experience in a Finance related role and familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Technical Skills : Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, Google Docs and familiarity with Google Data Studio (reporting)

Analytical Skills : Strong ability to create and interpret financial models
