Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a PCU Stroke Unit assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

This role supports adult neurological patients requiring progressive and stepdown-level care in a fast-paced academic medical center.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong Neuro PCU or Neuro Stepdown experience who are comfortable caring for acute stroke and complex neurological patients requiring close monitoring and rapid escalation of care.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Night shift | 3x12 (19:00-07:30)
• Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Floating required across OSU units as needed

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,359 per week
• W2: $24.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Care for acute stroke and neurological patients in a PCU/Stepdown setting
• Monitor post-TNK patients
• Care for craniotomy and neuro medical patients
• Manage lumbar drains
• Perform telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Recognize neuro changes and escalate care appropriately
• Document accurately in Epic EMR

UNIT OVERVIEW
• PCU / Neuro Stepdown - Stroke Unit
• Adult patient population
• 29-bed unit
• Typical ratio: 1:4
• Academic hospital environment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience REQUIRED
• Neuro PCU or Neuro Stepdown experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
• Strong neuro skill set REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
• NIHSS REQUIRED
• BLS REQUIRED
• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED
• Ability to float across OSU units REQUIRED
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Important Notes:
• Med/Surg-only candidates without Neuro PCU experience should NOT be submitted
• Previous travel experience preferred
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Local candidates accepted
