This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift

Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a requirement of 36 hours per week and 24 weekend hours every two weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive mental health care in a dynamic environment, specializing in Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, and Addiction treatment for adult patients. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care focused on patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations for admissions and discharges.
• Administer medications, both emergency and regular, in accordance with treatment protocols.
• Utilize COWS and CIWAs for monitoring patient withdrawal symptoms.
• Respond effectively to CODE Blues and manage violent situations with appropriate de-escalation techniques.
• Document patient progress using HCS and Pyxis electronic health record systems.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-6, ensuring personalized attention and care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle With Care (HWC) prior to start.
• Strong familiarity with emergency responses and medication administration in a mental health setting.
• Ability to float and assist in various areas as needed.
