Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients, prioritizing stabilization of life-threatening conditions and timely interventions.
- Perform clinical duties including IV starts, medication administration, phlebotomy, and monitoring of patient status.
- Document care and treatment using the MEDITECH electronic health record system; communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff; participate in patient and family education as appropriate.
- Demonstrate leadership as needed, with the ability to assume charge nurse duties when assigned.
- Maintain safety for patients and staff, including safe patient handling and adherence to infection control practices.

Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- MEDITECH experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and charge nurse experience preferred
- Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations; strong clinical judgment
- Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy during orientation
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure ED setting; effective communication and teamwork skills
- Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and obtain defibrillation certification within six months of employment
