Agency Relations Coordinator Organization: North Valley Community Food Bank Location: Colusa, CA Reports to: Program Manager – Food Bank About Us The Ministerial Association of Colusa County is a faith-based community-based organization that associates 23 Colusa County ministers and their churches as they promote food security, family stability and social health and wellness within the communities they serve and beyond. Through various programs and initiatives, we aim to address health disparities and improve access to quality healthcare for all individuals. Position Overview The role d irects the network of food pantries and all other agencies that receive food from the Food Bank. This position is fast paced with lots of multi-tasking and customer service needs. The ideal person for this role will be compliance-driven and unafraid to enforce rules, but also professional, compassionate, and understanding of the missions and values of our member agencies. Key Responsibilities Agency Relations Serve as the Food Bank’s primary liaison to our community partners and Partner Agencies throughout our service area, ensuring that we collaborate food resources, food security in each community and grants that can expand access to services. Monitor active member agencies, including Food Assistance Program sites every other year and document each monitoring visit with a written report. Maintain up-to-date and complete files on member agencies and manage Agency component of electronic food management system. Certify food pantries, making sure that pantries keep regular hours, provide a nutritious food basket, and submit reports with service information each month to the Food Bank. Oversee Feeding America sponsored remote food distributions in each county, and ensure that partner agencies receive an equitable distribution of food received affiliates. Create a quarterly newsletter for partner agencies and maintain our communication platform that ensures partner agencies receive real-time updates on inventory. Design and apply trainings to obtain compliance with Feeding America standards, and advertise local opportunities for partner agencies to receive their food handlers permit. Ability to coordinate annual Agency Summit event with partner agencies. Tabulate and maintain agency service statistics, shopper information, and mailing lists. Grocery Recovery Oversee grocery recovery operations (GRP), including assignment of agencies to donor sites, division of food inventory to partners, and monitoring of SB1383 compliance issues with county authorities. Build Food Recovery Agreements with new GRP donors and provide training to donor staff on appropriate food handling and storage of recovered food, including transfer to partner agencies. Learn all facets of the Senior Food Program (SNP & CSFP), Grocery Recovery Program, and the Benevolence Food Programs in order to back up other staff. Manage all Food Bank reports for Feeding America, MealConnect, GRP, CSFP and other program reporting as necessary. This position requires ability to work some nights and weekends (generally during Nov. and Dec.), outdoors, and in low-income areas. Job duties are 70% office, 30% field work. Use of personal vehicle required with mileage reimbursed at the standard federal rate. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Associate’s degree and one to two years related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience with social service and community organizations highly desired. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office. Must be competent working with Google docs. Familiarity with inventory software is a plus. Displays courtesy and sensitivity; manages difficult or emotional customer situations. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally before groups of customers, employees, and the general public demonstrating cultural sensitivity. Communicates accurately, honestly, supportively and in a timely manner with department and interdepartmental team members. Demonstrates strong planning, organizing, time management and interpersonal skills. Self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision. Works effectively under pressure to meet established goals and objectives. Valid California Driver’s license and insurance and ability to be insured under the Food Bank’s auto insurance required.
