Job Description

This role works as part of a production team to fabricate and assemble quality electronic equipment in a modern, dynamic manufacturing environment. You will flex between different tasks and work areas, including assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), and material movement, and will strive to become proficient in all tasks within your assigned functional area. The position involves working with small parts, following written work instructions in English, and using computers and basic software to complete production and inventory activities.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble electronic equipment according to detailed written work instructions.
• Work across multiple production areas daily, including assembly, SMT, and material movement, based on established schedules and patterns.
• Perform assembly tasks, often while seated, using small hand tools to build finished products with precision and care.
• Support SMT operations by pushing carts with reels of PCB components to and from machines, involving frequent standing, walking, and pushing.
• Handle material movement by going to the stockroom or warehouse, gathering parts, and delivering them to the production floor, including standing, counting, and walking for extended periods.
• Deliver materials to points of use on the production line in response to Kanban signals and other material requests.
• Accurately perform inventory transactions in the computer system to ensure correct counts and traceability of parts and materials.
• Actively participate in Tier 1 daily management system (DMS) meetings to review production status, discuss issues, and support team communication.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects by sharing ideas and feedback to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all production, quality, and safety procedures as directed by supervisors and documented work instructions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall production goals.

Essential Skills

• 01 years of related work experience in production, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with general production and assembly processes.
• Comfort working with small parts and using small hand tools for detailed assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English.
• Ability to use computers, including basic familiarity with Windows-based systems.
• Capability to stand, walk, push carts, and lift materials as needed for SMT and material movement activities.
• Ability to accurately count parts and perform basic inventory-related tasks.
• Willingness and ability to flex between different work areas and tasks during the day.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with electronic components or in an electronics production environment is a plus.
• Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
• Experience using Kanban systems or similar material replenishment methods is beneficial.
• Experience in fast-paced production environments, such as food industry production, is helpful.
• Comfort participating in daily team or production meetings.
• Openness to learning new tasks and cross-training in multiple areas of the production line.

Work Environment

You will work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facility designed for efficient, high-quality production. The layout resembles a football field, starting at one end with raw materials, moving through SMT and AOI machines, then into the assembly and hand-add area, and finishing in packaging and shipping. This position focuses primarily on the assembly and hand-add area, where you will work at new workstations equipped for small-parts assembly and electronic production. The environment is structured, clean, and organized, with clear material flow and dedicated areas for each stage of production. Work involves a mix of sitting (for assembly tasks) and standing, walking, and pushing carts (for SMT and material movement tasks), depending on the assigned area. You will use computers and Windows-based systems to follow instructions and record inventory transactions, and you will participate in daily management meetings on the production floor. The facilitys amenities, including kitchen, game area, TV lounge, and library, contribute to a comfortable and modern work setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.55/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
