Growing together.The Pharmacy Technician will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Schedule: This position does not have regularly scheduled hours and will cover shifts as needed. Shifts will vary between Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:00pm. This position may be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.About the Facility: Summit Oaks Hospital, a private psychiatric and chemical dependency center has been serving the Northeast Region since 1902. The facility includes a 126-bed hospital and an outpatient counseling center that serves children, adolescents, and adults. Summit Oaks is licensed by the state of New Jersey and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission (JCAHO).Primary ResponsibilitiesPrepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistProcess prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systemsAssist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyPrepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standardsProcess medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgencyDeliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsMaintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesSupport medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationCollaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryComply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentActive New Jersey pharmacy technician license in good standingPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
