Role Description The National Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Des Moines, IA, responsible for managing and growing key national retail, grocery, and foodservice accounts. This role includes building strategic relationships with buyers and category managers, leading account presentations, and negotiating pricing, promotions, and contracts. The National Account Manager will develop and execute account plans, analyze sales and category data, and coordinate with internal teams on forecasting, inventory, and product launches. Daily tasks include tracking performance against goals, identifying new distribution and promotional opportunities, resolving customer issues, and ensuring exemplary service. The role also collaborates closely with marketing and operations to deliver programs that drive brand visibility, volume, and profitability across all assigned accounts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in national or key account management, preferably within CPG, grocery, or food and beverage.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, customer management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Data-driven approach with proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI platforms, or retailer portals).
  • Experience with trade promotions, pricing strategy, and contract or agreement negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills for engaging buyers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple accounts, projects, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working on-site with occasional travel to customer locations, trade shows, or industry events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Passion for food, flavor innovation, and representing a growing, entrepreneurial brand.
