FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME)

Job Summary Coordinates activities of other food‑service employees. Creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. Location Cafe at Tyson’s – 2023 Hasty Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Schedule Full‑time schedule: Monday through Friday 3:00 pm–11:00 pm; Saturdays required. Compensation Pay Range: $19.00–$21.00 per hour. Referral Bonus Internal employee referral bonus available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide quality customer service with one‑to‑one attention to detail. Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control. Help plan menus. Ensure timely, efficient meal service; supervise serving of meals. Respond to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints. Train employees; assign and coordinate work of employees to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. Use proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll, and time‑keeping. Handle cash properly as established by the Food Accounting Manual (deposits, petty cash, change funds). Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors. Direct and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develop sanitation schedule and ensure food‑service employees adhere to the schedule for cleaning of kitchen and dining area and washing of kitchen utensils and equipment. Issue written and oral instructions. Help select and orient employees; oversee staff training in areas of responsibility. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous food service, food service management, cooking, culinary, cash handling, and food safety experience.
