Senior Director, Data Center Training (Nashville, TN)

Role OverviewAs Senior Director, Data Center Training, you will own the global training strategy, operating model, and execution framework that prepares Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center teams to operate safely, reliably, and consistently at scale. This role is accountable for building training standards that support technical qualification, site readiness, maintenance execution, emergency response, safety, compliance, and leadership development across mission-critical environments.You will lead training leaders, program managers, instructional designers, technical SMEs, site operations partners, and vendor contributors to deliver a scalable learning ecosystem for new sites, expanding campuses, and steady-state operations. The role requires senior-level judgment, strong operational credibility, and the ability to turn field experience into repeatable standards that improve uptime, safety, audit readiness, and team capability.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead the enterprise training strategy for OCI data center operations, facilities, deployment, reliability, and site support functions.Build and govern role-based training paths for technicians, engineers, managers, site leaders, deployment teams, and support functions.Lead a distributed training organization through managers and senior program leaders, including staffing, coaching, performance management, and capability planning.Establish qualification standards for technical operations, MOP/SOP/EOP execution, incident response, switching, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness.Partner with Data Center Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Construction, Commissioning, Site Deployment, Safety, Security, and HR to align training with operating risks and business priorities.Develop scalable curricula, labs, simulations, field qualification records, train-the-trainer models, and recurring proficiency checks.Ensure training content reflects current procedures, equipment configurations, lessons learned, audit findings, safety expectations, and operational standards.Create training governance cadences, dashboards, KPIs, completion tracking, and executive reporting for workforce readiness.Drive training readiness for new site launches, expansions, critical remediation programs, and major operational changes.Identify capability gaps across regions and partner with functional leaders to prioritize corrective training, coaching, and standardization.Oversee vendor and third-party training quality where external partners support technical instruction, certification, or workforce onboarding.Promote a culture of operational discipline, continuous learning, safety, and accountability across the data center organization.Only Oracle brings together the data, infrastructure, applications, and expertise to power everything from industry innovations to life-saving care. Voluntary benefits including auto, homeowner and pet insuranceThe role will generally accept applications for at least three calendar days from the posting date or as long as the job remains posted.Career Level - M5Ideal Candidate Profile15+ years of experience in technical training, data center operations, mission-critical facilities, reliability, engineering, construction operations, or workforce development.7+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers, senior program leaders, or distributed technical training teams.Experience building enterprise training programs for hyperscale data centers, utilities, industrial operations, critical facilities, manufacturing, military, or other high-reliability environments.Strong understanding of data center electrical, mechanical, controls, safety, maintenance, and emergency response workflows.Demonstrated ability to build operating models, governance mechanisms, dashboards, training standards, and executive-ready reporting.Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, education, organizational development, facilities management, or equivalent practical experience.Skills and CompetenciesSenior leadership presence with the ability to align executives, regional leaders, site teams, and technical SMEs.Strong training architecture and program governance capability across complex global operations.Operational judgment grounded in safety, reliability, uptime, maintenance quality, and field execution.Ability to translate technical risk, incident learnings, and operational standards into effective training products.Strong team development, coaching, change leadership, and performance management capability.High accountability for measurable training outcomes, readiness visibility, and continuous improvement.Preferred Skills / CertificationsExperience with learning management systems, qualification tracking, training dashboards, and workforce analytics.Familiarity with data center MEP systems, BMS/EPMS, CMMS, MOP/SOP/EOP governance, incident response, and safety programs.Instructional design, ATD, CPTD, PMP, Six Sigma, OSHA, NFPA, NETA, CMRP, or related technical training certification.Experience standing up training programs for new sites, new regions, or rapidly scaling technical organizations.Experience supporting regulated, high-availability, or safety-critical environments.NOTE: This is a full-time onsite role in Nashville, TN.Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentThis role operates across office, remote collaboration, training, and active data center environments. The position may require travel to data center campuses, training sites, vendor facilities, and operational readiness reviews.
