About the Role:
The Front Desk Clerk serves as the primary point of contact for guests and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in and check-out experience. This role is critical in maintaining smooth daily operations by managing reservations, handling inquiries, and coordinating with other departments. The Front Desk Clerk is responsible for accurately processing payments, maintaining guest records, and addressing any concerns promptly to enhance overall guest satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while providing exceptional customer service. Ultimately, the Front Desk Clerk contributes significantly to the positive reputation and operational success of the establishment by fostering a professional and friendly environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or front desk role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with reservation and property management systems.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific hotel management software such as Opera, Maestro, or similar platforms.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Certification in hospitality or customer service training programs.
- Knowledge of local area attractions and services.
- Experience handling cash and credit card transactions securely.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a warm and professional first impression.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including verifying reservations and processing payments.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle guest inquiries or requests promptly and courteously.
- Maintain accurate records of guest information, reservations, and transactions using property management software.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest needs are met and issues are resolved quickly.
- Handle billing and cash transactions accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and transportation options to guests.
- Assist in managing lost and found items and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.

Organizational skills are essential for managing reservations, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with other departments to provide seamless service.
