Job Title: Construction Manager – Utility-Scale Solar (PV) & Energy Storage (BESS) Company Overview CrestCura is a specialized service provider delivering expert (SME) services for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. As industry pioneers and subject matter experts, our team has been involved in some of the earliest and most advanced solar projects in the U.S. Position Summary CrestCura is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to serve as the primary onsite leader for utility-scale PV and BESS projects. This role will oversee daily onsite operations, closely monitor the EPC contractor’s activities, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedule expectations, and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate brings deep field experience, extensive knowledge of PV & BESS construction operations and contracts, strong conflict-resolution skills for managing onsite disputes, and the ability to drive construction execution seamlessly from mobilization through commissioning. Key Responsibilities Onsite Leadership: Serve as the primary onsite representative for CrestCura, providing daily oversight of construction activities on assigned utility-scale PV or BESS projects. EPC Oversight: Monitor the EPC contractor’s daily progress, manpower tracking, and adherence to the project schedule, ensuring field execution aligns with the overall project plan and contractual obligations. Dispute Resolution: Act as the first line of defense for resolving onsite disputes between contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, keeping the project moving efficiently. Quality & Compliance: Conduct regular site walkthroughs to verify that construction meets strict design specifications, QA/QC standards, and regulatory requirements. Safety Champion: Ensure the EPC and all site personnel strictly adhere to Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) and OSHA standards; actively participate in and audit daily safety meetings. Risk mitigation: Identify and mitigate project risks, including technical, contractual, and commercial issues. Field Engineering Support: Review and assist in managing field-level documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and field change directives. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with the offsite Project Manager, providing transparent, accurate daily logs, progress photos, and early warnings regarding scope or schedule deviations. Commissioning Handoff: Oversee the transition from mechanical and electrical completion into the testing and commissioning phases, coordinating closely with OEMs and CrestCura’s commissioning teams. Qualifications Education / Background Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 5-years of onsite construction management experience. Industry Experience: 4+ years of dedicated onsite construction management or site superintendence experience on utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects. Proven track record managing projects through construction, mechanical completion, and commissioning phases. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of PV and BESS construction means and methods, electrical installations, civil site prep, and mechanical racking/tracker assemblies. Contractor Management: Proven track record of successfully overseeing EPC contractors, managing field crews, and holding third parties accountable to quality and schedule constraints. Communication & Conflict Resolution: Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to de-escalate and resolve field disputes effectively while protecting client interests. Preferred Qualifications PMP certification, OSHA 30, or other relevant certification Experience with an EPC, IPP, or utility in a Construction Management role Active Journeyman, Master Electrician, PE, or other relevant license Familiarity with environmental compliance (SWPPP) What We Offer Opportunity to work on high-impact, utility-scale renewable energy projects Collaborative, expert-driven team environment Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives Location Onsite / Project-Based (80-100%) – Must be onsite during operations, 6 – 12 months at a time.
