MSP IT Systems Technician

Salary: $47,840 - 68,640 per year Requirements:

• We strongly prefer prior MSP experience, with a solid understanding of multi-client environments, service-level expectations, and prioritizing work across several accounts.
• We need strong troubleshooting ability across Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Entra ID.
• We expect comfort working with RMM platforms and remote support tools.
• We value a strong foundation in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
• Experience with EDR/MDR solutions is important.
• Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Datto, Axcient, Veeam, or similar is preferred.
• Exposure to Fortinet or FortiGate firewalls is desirable.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or CMMC is a plus.
• We want someone who is comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency and who is genuinely interested in applying AI in support workflows.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills are required.
• Experience with Datto RMM, Autotask, SentinelOne, or Huntress is an advantage.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MS-102 or AZ-104, or Fortinet NSE are a plus.
• A valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required for occasional client visits.
• We prefer candidates with at least 1 year of MSP experience.
• We are looking for someone who can work in person and live within 25 miles of Laguna Niguel.

• We serve as the escalation point for HelpDesk tickets and own issues through to full resolution.
• We troubleshoot Windows Server and Windows 10/11 workstation issues, including performance problems, profile corruption, application errors, and update failures.
• We administer Active Directory and Entra ID, including user and group management, Group Policy, permissions, and hybrid sync issues.
• We resolve Microsoft 365 issues across Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, mail flow, and licensing.
• We provide remote end-user support through our RMM and remote access tools, and we travel onsite when needed.
• We troubleshoot printers, scanners, peripherals, drivers, print servers, and network printing problems.
• We monitor, assess, and respond to endpoint security alerts, escalating confirmed incidents according to client runbooks.
• We monitor backup jobs and remediate failures across cloud and on-premises BCDR platforms.
• We assist with network troubleshooting, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, and basic FortiGate firewall changes.
• We document solutions clearly in our PSA and knowledge base to reduce repeat issues.
• We use AI-assisted tools to speed up ticket triage, resolution notes, and knowledge-base updates.
• We communicate directly with client end users and IT contacts, translating technical issues into clear, plain language.
• We mentor Tier I technicians and provide technical guidance.
• We participate in rotating after-hours on-call coverage for critical alerts.
