Analytics Engineer

Analytics Engineer | Location: On-Site | Contract To Hire

An Analytics Engineer role focused on transforming raw data into actionable insights within a media sales and analytics environment. This position involves building high-performance semantic models, managing data pipelines, and ensuring data governance to support advanced dashboards and AI data agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain Silver and Gold data layers in Lakehouse environments using Spark and SQL, ensuring data is thoroughly tested, cleansed, and documented.
• Design and develop Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models (Direct Lake mode) to establish a single source of truth across the organization.
• Translate complex business questions related to media sales, revenue pacing, share of wallet, and yield into precise technical data definitions.
• Structure data for Large Language Model (LLM) consumption, enabling AI Data Agents to navigate hierarchies of stations, advertisers, and categories.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and maintain data lineage to ensure compliance with data governance standards.
• Lead the design of project-specific data models, prepare detailed design specifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature estimations.
• Perform root cause analysis on data anomalies, optimize data pipeline performance, and implement corrective solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analytics, data modeling, or data engineering.
• Deep expertise in relational modeling concepts and Microsoft tabular semantic models.
• Proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with Power BI, DAX, and Spark (Spark SQL/PySpark/Scala).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric tools and Delta Lake format.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into technical models using Star Schema and Dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data governance, security best practices, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
• Industry experience in media or broadcasting sectors.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and containerized deployment.
