Job Title: Project Manager Department FLSA Classification EEO Classification Last Modified Construction Exempt First/Mid- Level Officials & Managers 08/22/2024 Job Summary: Oversees and manages fiber optic installation projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Leads and manages fiber optic installation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Develops and maintains project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations under tight deadlines. Communicates effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members regarding project goals, progress, and issues. Supervises project staff, both virtually and on-site, ensuring all team members are adequately prepared for project tasks. Reads and interprets splice diagrams and construction drawings. Troubleshoots issues related to fiber optic installations and ensures compliance with industry standards. Utilizes IQGEO, OCUISX and GIS systems to manage project data and logistics effectively. Conducts virtual and physical site inspections to assess project status, quality control, and safety compliance. Ensures all work meets regulatory requirements and best practices in fiber optic installation. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field required. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred. 5+ years of experience in project management or a similar role required. Proven experience managing aggressive project schedules and leading teams. Strong knowledge of fiber optic technology, splice diagrams, and installation practices required. Proficient in IQGEO, GIS, and other project management software required. Must be able to travel as needed to various project sites and markets, which may require long hours and flexibility in schedule. Ability to work long hours involving overtime and weekends, as necessary. Ability to respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation. Must be able to work emergency schedules during natural disasters and network outages. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record meeting the company policy conditions. Excellent organizational abilities. Time management. Management of personnel resources. Proficient in Google Suite or related software. Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations. Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions and work well under pressure when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays. Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems. Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day. Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather. Ability to climb and work at elevations (i.e., ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet. Ability to work in confined spaces (i.e., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes). Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus.
