Location: Pompano Beach, FL Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM Schedule Requirement: Rotational Saturdays

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II - Float to join our team in Pompano Beach, FL. The Phlebotomist II serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection, specimen processing, and administrative duties. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the flexibility to travel between multiple patient service locations as needed.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality, accuracy, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain required patient signatures after specimen collection.
• Ensure proper specimen labeling and documentation according to company procedures.
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and required documentation.
• Provide exceptional patient service by explaining collection procedures and creating a comfortable environment.
• Follow all safety, quality assurance, and infection control guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Support Patient Service Centers (PSCs), physician offices, and other assigned locations as business needs dictate.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image of the organization.
• Work independently under the direction of the Area Supervisor while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in certain states).

Experience

• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with:
  • Pediatric collections
  • Geriatric collections
  • Capillary collections
• Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment strongly preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience required.

Float Requirements

• Must be willing to travel between multiple collection sites as required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Clean driving record required.
• Ability to arrive on time at assigned locations with minimal notice.
• Mileage reimbursement available for eligible travel expenses.
• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
