All Jobs > Senior Telecommunications Specialist National Capital Region; Albuquerque, NM Full-time Description Cogent Security LLC is seeking a highly skilled telecommunications professional with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to provide secure communications support. The selected candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Secure Telecommunication Equipment (STE), manage COMSEC Type 1 keying material and associated equipment, utilize NSA-approved Key Management Systems, and perform the destruction of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) in support of mission requirements. Primary Responsibilities Manage Secure Communications: Manage, administer, maintain, secure, install, and support secure telecommunications equipment for Agency Headquarters operations and the COMSEC Key Management System. Systems Integration: Interface and integrate with local classified and unclassified Wide Area Network (WAN) telecommunications operations to ensure secure telecommunications compatibility and connectivity. Technical Troubleshooting: Detect, diagnose, analyze, report, and resolve issues related to hardware and application software supporting classified telecommunications equipment and cryptographic items. Equipment Lifecycle Management: Execute secure telecommunication equipment (STE) installation, repair, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Manage the authorized destruction of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI). Compliance and Auditing: Assist with COMSEC audits, inspections, inventories, and training, as required, to maintain strict adherence to security protocols. Strategic Awareness: Maintain awareness of emerging secure telecommunications equipment and COMSEC Key Management requirements and operational changes. Operational Security: Ensure protection of operations and equipment in accordance with Agency and applicable national policy requirements. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience in Type 1 Key management and secure telecommunications/COMSEC equipment Extensive Federal Government experience with relevant COMSEC certifications Current and active security clearance (Specific Agency information provided during interview) Experience with NSA-approved Key Management Systems Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Be self‑motivated, proactive, and solution‑oriented Ability to manage the workload and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment Time management, problem‑solving, and organizational skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline Experience working collaboratively with senior Agency management Advanced technical training in Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) Position Location: Albuquerque, NM and Washington, DC (Agency location provided during interview) Travel Required: Minimal About Cogent Security LLC: Cogent Security Consulting was founded in 2010 and has since grown to over 150 employees.
