Senior Mechanical Engineer – Custom Industrial Equipment

We are partnering with a growing industrial machinery manufacturer in the Braselton, Georgia area to identify an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can play a key role in the design and successful build of highly customized capital equipment.

This is not a narrowly focused desk-design position. The engineer will work across the full equipment lifecycle—from mechanical design and documentation through purchasing, fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and delivery—and collaborate closely with another mechanical engineer and an experienced shop-floor team.

The ideal candidate has been through enough machinery builds to understand not only how to design equipment, but how to get it built successfully.

What You'll Do

• Design and modify custom industrial machinery and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
• Develop and manage bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Work directly with fabricators, assemblers, and other shop-floor personnel to translate designs into working equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on components, quotations, technical requirements, and purchasing needs.
• Support engineering changes, design revisions, and machine-build troubleshooting.
• Help coordinate the progression of equipment from design through fabrication, assembly, testing, and completion.
• Identify opportunities to simplify designs, improve manufacturability, shorten build cycles, and improve overall machine-build execution.
• Bring practical machinery-build experience to engineering decisions involving materials, components, fabrication, assembly, inventory, and project execution.
• Work collaboratively within a small engineering and operations team where individual ownership and communication are highly visible.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Professional experience designing and building industrial machinery, capital equipment, automation equipment, or other complex mechanical systems.
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, including parts and assemblies.
• Practical understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience creating and working with engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Ability to work effectively with manufacturing personnel and resolve issues on the shop floor.
• Understanding of how engineering decisions affect purchasing, fabrication, assembly, cost, schedule, and equipment performance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with other engineers and functional leaders.

Particularly Relevant Experience

Experience with any of the following would be especially valuable:

• Custom or engineer-to-order machinery
• CNC equipment
• Pneumatic blasting or surface-treatment equipment
• Industrial automation
• Aerospace manufacturing equipment
• Robotic or automated machinery
• Other complex, configurable capital equipment

Direct shot-peening experience is not required.

Position Details

• Location: Braselton, GA
• Work arrangement: Fully onsite
• Schedule: Monday–Friday; standard operating hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional overtime based on project requirements.
• Compensation: $110,000–$140,000 base salary, depending on experience
