Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology experience (New Grads are welcome) Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive‑communication abilities. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, offering supportive counseling as required. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in speech language therapy. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical Abilities Must remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Must work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical / Motor Skills Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently without assistance from other personnel. Must contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail. Sensory Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
